Creative Soul Studios prides itself on meeting your caricature needs. Will is very personable with every person that he draws. Despite his exceptional talent, he is humble and passionate about making people laugh.
Will’s caricatures have made people laugh LONG after the event. Many come back, letting us know how they chuckle whenever they see the caricature they framed displayed in their home or office.
It depends on the type of caricatures. If I draw Black-and-White Shaded Faces (95% of my gigs), the speed is 12-14 faces per hour. If it’s line drawings only (no shading or background color), I can draw 20 faces per hour. For color caricatures, I can generally do 8-10 per hour. If bodies are desired, add another minute or two to each drawing. These are approximate speeds; I have been known to draw even more faces per hour than I quote! It also depends on how quickly people get in and out of my chair, their age, if they are chatty, etc.
I can fit four (and sometimes five) faces on one sheet. It takes the same time as drawing caricatures singly. It’s always funny when people think it’s faster to do many people on one sheet! They don’t all have to sit at once—generally, there are only one or two chairs for my subjects, and until I train my left hand to draw simultaneously with my right, I can only draw one person at a time!
Yes, but only for Traditional black-and-white caricatures. Just to let you know, walking around drawing your guests may slow the artist down, preventing him from drawing as many people within the time you have booked.

No, I can draw even squirmy babies if they can look in my direction for a minute or two. That first impression is when I get the general likeness down; the rest is for details and shading.
Yes. To ensure your spot is saved, I ask that you make a required nonrefundable 50% deposit to lock in the date and time. The balance is due before your event; once I receive your deposit, I will turn down all other requests for my services for your time slot. If, by some circumstances, I can’t do your event, I will either refund your balance or send a suitable replacement, but in twenty years of doing this, it hasn’t been necessary.
I encourage customers and clients to plan early and book a caricature artist as soon as possible. It will save you stress and ensure your event with caricature entertainment.
We do ask that you provide the artist with:
1. Three chairs
2. One small table (optional)
2. Locate the caricature artist near an electrical outlet, if possible, for lighting (optional)
3. If possible, please don’t place the artist near music or DJ speakers so he can talk with your guests.
Of Course! Remember that coloring drawings will take more time, drawing fewer people within the time needed. Black-and-white drawings will be a better option if you would like me to draw as many guests as possible.
Yes, the event name, date, image, or logo can be pre-printed on each paper (optional for an additional fee), and I use a one- or two-color background that matches your theme, school, wedding, or corporate colors.
I’m sorry, I can not contact them, but I can send you a list of other artists to contact. My colleagues are highly talented and qualified; I have worked with some of them. They are reliable and perform very professionally. Visit their social media and website and read reviews before booking them for your event. I think you should contact them early to make sure they are available for your event with enough time so that you can make the necessary arrangements.
I use a portable slanted drawing table. The client provides me with two or three chairs—one for me and one or two for my subjects if many couples are drawn. If possible, I would appreciate a small table. I can do without it if necessary, but it’s nice to have a place for my sign, supplies, and folks to put their drinks, etc. I also need access to an electrical outlet for my easel lamp. I need full shade if the event is outdoors, so my subjects don’t squint. And please don’t seat me next to speakers or generators so I can converse with your guests!
I use sturdy 9″ x 12″ or 11”x 14” cover stock. Each caricature is provided with a clear plastic bag.
I have a two-hour minimum for all events. If an event is quite far from me, I suggest a three-hour minimum. However, I can draw for almost any amount of time. I’ve drawn practically nonstop for twelve hours at some festivals I’ve done! Most gigs are between two and five hours. As for breaks, I only take brief ones if necessary because I want to draw as many of your guests as possible!
Generally, the best way is first-come, first-served. Sign-in sheets typically don’t work; time is wasted looking for the next person if they wander off. The beauty of live caricature is that it entertains many while they wait to be drawn themselves! My scheduled drawing time is posted on a sign next to me, so people will know when I am finished. I note that on my sign, if I am asked to stay longer.
If the venue requires a Certificate of Insurance. I can provide it at an extra cost on my booking form here.
When you’re ready to hire me, please check if I’m available for your event date by checking the caricature event calendar. After filling out, the form, I will send you a PayPal invoice for your deposit and a simple agreement that lists the particulars of your party–client name, contact info, date, time, event location, and anything you’d like me to keep in mind (such as whether the event is a surprise if there is a theme, what you’d like written on each paper, any particular directions, etc.). After the agreement is signed and the balance paid, I join you on your day and start drawing smiles and laughter!
